Like a sculptor carves marble, Michael Anastassiades carves out elements in his designs to get to the essence of his ideas. As Anastassiades shows, nothing is as essential as pure geometry. With the squares of the Cartesian grid as a guide, fine extruded aluminum rods create an open, dynamic composition. Moving around the piece reveals the calculated placement of the light-filtering opal platinic silicone diffusers. Pointing up, down, and to the sides, the diffusers push out a crisp stream of LED lighting. The LEDs leave rooms with a warm aura and a graphic silhouette. The fine cable suspension heightens the seemingly floating quality of this piece.
